Following their yearly iteration model for the series, the next Call of Duty has been announced. Titled Call of Duty: Ghosts and in development at Infinity Ward, the game has so far only been teased with a short video showing soldiers with masks similar to Lieutenant Simon “Ghost” Riley’s from the Modern Warfare series. Beyond the name and studio, the only other detail regarding the game itself that was revealed was that Ghosts will be running on a brand-new next-gen engine. When can we find out more? The official full reveal will be on May 21, 2013. This coincidentally (or, no, not really) coincides with the upcoming next-gen Xbox reveal on the same day and it’ll even be during the same event.
Call of Duty: Ghosts is being released on November 5, 2013 and has been confirmed (so far) for release on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC platforms, though since the official reveal will be at the (supposedly) next-gen Xbox event it’s a good bet and makes smart business sense that it’ll be coming to the PlayStation 4 and next Xbox as well. So, mark your calendars, keep it to GirpYaJoystick as more news is revealed, and check out the “Masked Warriors” live-action teaser embedded below.
