Capcom has revealed today on the Capcom blog that they plan to bring the original six 8-bit Mega Man games to new platforms, namely Xbox One, PlayStation 4, PC, and 3DS.
Bundled digitally as the Mega Man Legacy Collection, this new compilation will include the games as they originally appeared, though with a new 1080p HD resolution, courtesy of Digital Eclipse. But, it’s not all old as the game is coming along with some new additions like leaderboards, a Challenge Mode that reshuffles the stages in new ways and adds limitations or rules to make things harder, and those that do the best will have their runs uploaded to the server via Replays for everyone else to watch and bask in their greatness (or just marvel at how good some people can be at one game and wallow in pity that you’ll never be that good). The big addition for diehard fans is the Museum, which will include loads of “sketches, art and other visual materials”.
They also released a trailer, which you can view below. The Mega Man Legacy Collection is set to be released digitally in the Summer of 2015 for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC and later in the Winter for 3DS. So far it’s priced at $14.99, though who knows how that’ll translate to other markets. Keep it here for all your Blue Bomber news!
