It’s an exciting time to be a gamer. With a new console releasing in just a few weeks, we’re on the precipice of a new console generation, with the current one lasting longer than any preceding it (about 7 years!). Knowing it’s time to jump on the “holiday” season with October now in the past, Nintendo has officially begun their marketing push for their upcoming home console, the Wii U. Check out the first video below:
Showing the cliché of happy people playing video games together, it gives a glimpse of some of the possibilities of the new type of controller. Using a touch screen to interact with games while others play and using it to browse your video library are just some of the ways shown. The video also shows people playing some of the launch window titles, such as the various minigames of Nintendo Land, Sing Party, Lego City Undercover, and New Super Mario Bros. U, which also received a trailer:
Revealed during Nintendo’s Press Conference at E3 2011, the Wii U has since been the one and only new home console revealed for the next generation. There has been some confusion amongst the general public about whether the Wii U is a controller or a whole new console. Hopefully, with the hype machine beginning to rev up, Nintendo will be able to straighten everyone out on the details.
