It’s a bit surprising that I haven’t seen more projects that bring together two genres that are as popular as deck builders and strategy games. Previous style designs gave us everything to kill Spires from Monster Train 2, but the latter include Storm, Total War: Pharaoh, Age of Empire 4 and more. When we get off I’ve taken notes from both types of games, blended them into new ones, and now I can check it out myself with the early access launch on Steam today.
As we came down, we were on the radar for a while thanks to clever mashups in the strategy, logrique and card game genres. It is very similar to traditional strategy games, focusing on assembling troops from different unit types, deploying them to fight enemies in tactical combat.
However, these battles play on cards. This is a unit assembled as a carefully constructed deck. It is also a Roguelike that allows you to change from one run to the next, such as the resources needed to upgrade or adopt a unit.
With the current early access version, players can get a good sample of what is accompanied by a complete game. At the time of release, two of the three player origins are available, and according to the game’s Steam page, “the game’s structure and core mechanics already exist.”
As we’re off, early access on Steam offers a 17% discount and the price is reduced to 24.89 USD/£22.40. Get a copy here.
