The developer’s rebellion development revealed the first perspective on Atomfall’s first DLC extension yesterday. The title Wicked Isle, surprisingly, takes you to an island called Midsummer Island, which is actually a bit evil, but in a bad way, not something that teens in the 2000s say about what they like. Specifically, it has a bit more folk horror vibe, but I’m certainly conceptually interested. In Britain, there is a lot of great lore in Britain, unless you trample your territory frequently.
Design Rebellion Director Ben Fisher explains that the island is “close to front-scale atomic plants, resulting in higher levels of infection in both human and environmental areas than in the mainland.” You can introduce and fight new enemies such as pirate bandits and infected druids, but you will get some new weapons to kindly dodge them. These include Blunderbuss Shotgun, Cutlass, Daggers, new bows, beekeeper staff and more. As you know, it’s the typical variety you found on a creepy island.

Some of you may want to know that some of the new storylines could lead to a new ending for the base game (or you’re afraid to hear based on what you liked the game). Obviously there is no details about what they are, but I think the joy of experiencing things for the first time is just that!
There is also an expansion release date: June 3rd, only a few days away as of writing. Now that we realised that our own James wanted a bit of what Atomfall had to offer in his own review of the RPG, let’s see how it forms.
