As the developer of the biggest, most prestigious and highly anticipated Unreal Engine 5 game currently working on, CD Projekt Red was invited to the latest version of Unreal, offering the latest look of Witcher 4.
The main focus of the event was on the 5.6 iteration of the engine, with CDPR running the demo on the latest version of the engine showing off many technical innovations and some gameplay.

While the build is playing live on the controller, it is important to note that this is still a technical demo to highlight how CD Projekt Red takes advantage of Unreal Engine 5.6 tools and features. It’s not stretch to say that the final game might not look like that, as this is also the studio’s first game on Epic’s engine.
That being said, the demo was running on a standard PS5 at 60fps with ray tracing. It’s a rather impressive showcase of what the next generation of Witchers will look like, even if the final code is difficult to see that good.
This footage does not include anything monster hunting or actually combat. It’s unlikely that you’ll be able to watch much of the game for a while, so you can crank the video all the way up to 4K60 and enjoy it as little artifact as possible. Witcher 4 does not have a release date, but the game is currently under development for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/s.
