Resident Evil 9 is real, arriving next year, and it's looking like it'll be amping up the horror once more

The imminent announcement of Resident Evil 9 was kind of a hovering for what felt like months. The insiders have been claiming for a while that they are trying to see it on this show and its show, but somehow it never happened – and it seems like today’s day, which has finally changed.

During the kickoff showcase of today’s summer Game Fest, Capcom delivered a brief message about upcoming sequels to the legendary horror series. In a short video, Jun Acuchi thanked his fans for their support of the Resident Evil series, saying that there will be more news as soon as the developers are ready. This mostly leads to believe we will not be seeing Resident Evil 9 today, but when the show was closed, everyone was surprised.

A terrifying short trailer, Resident Evil 9, is called Resident Evil Requiem, and this time it appears to invite players to a more terrifying experience that resembles Resident Evil, similar to Resident Evil. Better news? It will be playable at that point February 27, 2026.

However, in many cases, more will become clear during the current release of Resident Evil 9. The game is currently under development for PC, PS5, and Xbox series X/s.
