But there are four, from historical options like the old world to more fantastic Stellalis and amazing times. Now, one of the best civic rivals is finally coming back. The Infinite Legend 2Amplitude Studios’ Ultra Creative Strategy Game sequel has been bullied us recently with the release of the ‘Tion’ and will have a release date in the end.
In the 2014 Endless Legend Review, Fraser overwhelmed it on 9/10, celebrating its powerful design philosophy and willingness to evolve genre conventions. Currently, under the umbrella against the hooded horses of Arashi’s Publishers, Legend of Endless 2 follows in the footsteps of its predecessor, especially as an asymmetric 4x game. Each faction boasts a dramatically different core mechanic, with every playthrough feeling unique to the other playthroughs.

However, this time we are moving to a new world. The Saiada ocean planet is defined by dramatic tidal changes and can retreat the ocean, where new lands can be announced to settle or open potential paths of attack towards previously safe coastlines. These “Tidefall” events are naturally integrated into procedurally generated maps, making them seem very different from how the world started by the time the game ends.
Just like in the original game, Endless Legend 2 takes place on a hexadecimal grid map, where combat encounters generate bespoke battlefields that occur based on the surrounding terrain. Depending on your chosen faction and your preferred approach to others, the small groups you encounter when exploring can be negotiated to exchange for resources, assimilate into the empire, or consume completely.
At the time of release, Endless Legend 2 featured five factions, three of which have already been seen. Sherredin’s relatives are a marginalized spaceship with the aim of regaining access to the technical wonders between the stars. Aspect is a high-minded blend of coral creatures and machines, spreading Zerg-like terrain on the map. Necrophages are all-consuming warmans that return to their favourites, based from a single city and allow them to rapidly move their land through extensive tunnel networks.
The Endless Legend 2 release date will take place on Thursday, August 7th, 2025 via Steam Earty Access. If you want to be notified when you arrive, you can wish list it now. Expect a deep dive into the final two factions before the full release arrives.
