You may not have an atmosphere in everything in their game, but it is difficult to deny that people behind the Yakuza/like the Dragon series have a rich sense of style. Not every year, but you get a new franchise from the legendary Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, but you’ll care if this next title doesn’t look special.
Initially bullied at the Game Awards 2024 as Project Century, but the studio gave the game the official title: Stranger than Heaven.

Than Than Heaven’s debut was on the summer Game Fest event stage, making it difficult to guess which game he was watching in the beginning. The trailer starts with a character sitting in a live musical performance that looks like 1940s Japan, then leaves the bar and grabs the iconic Ryu ga Gotoku studio logo.
Of course, there are a lot of trademark elements to this. The battles show just as brutal (and stupid) looks as if they were the old Yakuza games. Exploration and urban life also appear in the footage.
There seems to be more puzzle solutions and the options focus on this, but this is not what you usually end up in like a dragon. What is worth mentioning is that the game takes place across multiple eras. The first public trailer showed a 1915 setting, but today’s re-rescue takes place in 1943. This is a massive jump.

If the game’s working titles apply, the game may experience stories that take place throughout the 19th century, but you can see Japan after World War II. There’s clearly a lot going on with this. In particular, the elements of American influence, and what appears to be the supernatural aspects of our heroes.
More strangers than heaven have no release targets yet, and they still don’t know which platforms will come. However, given how cool this re-relief is, the game already has fans looking to see what RGG Studio shows below.
