Over the past year, the handg team I’ve been following – the Seattle Seahawks – has missed the playoffs. They were not bad by any spread of imagination. In fact, there were some really fun moments while stumbling on the 9-8 record. Jake Bobo and your Geno Smith are you a good person to draw rock.
They weren’t that good, so the whole whole launches head coaches who defined the whole era for the franchise. They were in the middle of the mushy mushyness of the NFL, and there were enough ups and downs to pull your hair as often as you cheer for. Madden NFL 25‘S-No, not – a bit of that kind too.

As always, there is a lot to recognize in the game if you play Madden within the last five years. To make this year’s entries stand out earlier and to be fair, we’ll be looking towards Comeback Kid EA Sports College Football 25 in a year where there was a significant amount of attention and marketing push.
For example, when it comes to gameplay, a major selling point is “boom technology.” It is designed to provide more realistic tackle and collisions. This was a long list of things EA is looking to improve. But this time it really seems to have helped. You’ll still get weird, nasty looking collisions, but most of the hits made through hit sticks, especially feel more fluid and natural.
On the other side of the coin, as a runner, it feels a little more dynamic with sprints, jukes and jibes. I realized I could stop hesitate more than usual with more spins. This taught me that the new running mechanic gave me plenty of confidence that I just book straight into the end zone before the full key happens and don’t have to rely so much on it. It’s pretty fun, even on the basis of the action, if not epic adrenaline inducing.
In most matchups with AI I’ve had so far, I feel that crime is a bit more powerful than defense, probably because there are new catching changes. That wasn’t always the case, but I ended up with quite a few shootouts, and it’s now thought it was likely that I threatened to stack the deck towards the D, but for now I can see it’s tailored to the people trying to score points. Naturally, for clipboard enthusiasts, there are more details stacked on top of it, with changes to perform new signature animations and blocking for various players, and look for something if the details are big. The new dynamic kickoff is there to match this year’s new rules, but apart from few fair catches, you may not notice any major differences unless you’re big on a special team.
Next, there is a new kick meter. This follows the theme of Madden 25. It replaces what seemed quite outdated, even if they didn’t always feel it. It’s one click to set the direction, and you’ll quickly set another direction, and there’s a lower margin of error than before, making it more likely to ball things properly. Yes, kicks, especially the long ones, are far more challenges now. Fans who have gathered all my attempts to sail past the post will tell you.
Following the same theme I outlined earlier, one of the most notable off-field changes is the redesigned menu. The redesigned draft visuals of franchise mode follow similar lines. In this case, it will be replaced with a setup that I felt obviously old and unreflective for a while. But now we have a quiet Roger Goodell of boos as he poses for each of your team’s next great hope and the top picks of others. I’m kidding, but even if some of the faces being drafted seem to be something I’ve perceived to be in the draft series for years, even if it falls a bit, there’s decent variety in it. Also, while some players’ proportions can look a little odd when walking around on stage, EA may need to drop them down there, given the oddity that real athletes can see the suit.

Beyond this, the franchise mode is primarily a stationary mixed bag, rendered with minimal rendering of the same kind – it is not a good or bad in itself in my book – cutscenes without voice acting or many drama. The change in player progress appears to have achieved their goal of bringing the younger stars up faster as Jordan Addison and JJ McCarthy are rising rapidly to support the Vikings in the 2025 title with one of my saves (Sorry, Vikes fans). The new team builder mechanic is built on a recently remodeled team relocation mechanic, but at first it seemed like it was not possible to actually create your own team through the websites that you need to use to do so. The UK version seems simply broken at the time of writing, so you have to pretend to be in the US to ensure that you are not provided with a 404 error when trying to load things.
Despite the fact that it offers a decent amount of logos, uniforms and stadium-wide customization – when it appears in the game, you may run into problems mentioned twice (such as Boston Boston) and twice (such as Boston Boston), but that episode allowed you to question why the team builders weren’t able to integrate into the game, not into the game. Especially for players who may not fuss about uploading small custom images and acting as a logo for a team called something like Grimsby Gobblers. It’s a commendable Madden to finally match the long-standing customizations offered by NBA 2K and others, but if the gap with My League actually closes, there’s more refinement to it.

When switching gears, the changes to Superstar mode are even more minimal, and the ability to import College Football 25 players and creators allows you to create players that look like they are not typical NPCs if you’re not importing the entire headline. I think the creator is fine. Even if you just started with one tattoo option, it seems a bit of crap, but you can earn more just by playing it. Come to the youngsters, giving at least the beginners three different kinds of embarrassment of the tribes of the 2000s, some football comes out of flame.
Yes, it’s the ultimate team now. Generally speaking, if you were looking for more to do when riding the dopamine rush, you’ll probably be moaning about the script every time you lose an online match. Eight seasons are planned throughout the game’s lifespan, allowing you to throw away the only challenge that’s pretty fun, and there are some changes to how head-to-head rankings work, with a big emphasis on winning and rewards.
So, in another year, another rather mixed bag. However, things just keep going, unless Madden can provide even more meaningful changes in the future, like these Seahawks. I hope that the cheeky brothers of this series will return to the block with marching bands and moral difficulties on exploitation.
