There are still days left before Remedy Entertainment’s latest entry into connected universe, FBC: Firebreak, is unleashed into the world. Whether that’s overall good or not, we probably won’t know for a while, considering that its like-minded online shooters are always guaranteed to receive a large number of patches to iron some kinks at all times. Our own NIC, at least ignoring the garbage guns of the time, discovered in his preview that he liked the game.
Whether these tweaks come or not, Remedy guarantees one thing. Some big free updates including new things. It’s not that good! The 2025 roadmap included some updates outlined for the remainder of the year. The first one coming in autumn/Autumn is called the codename “Outbreak.” This brings a new field, the research department, along with some new gameplay systems and enemies, as well as the rewards earned. There are also new paid categorized requests that come with some armor, skins and character audio packs – but the playables of the updates are totally free.

After that, there will be an update to the codename “Blackout” in winter. The site for this is not named, but there are more enemies and rewards along with some new equipment. You can also pick up separate paid, classified requests.
Remedy’s Communications Director shared in another post that they have plans for further updates in 2026, but the team thinks “I want to start the game first and see what the reception is, what the community wants to see, what you might be drawn to before making more decisions to release it for free for FBC: Firebrake in 2026.” It sounds like it was when it came!
FBC: The fire is scheduled to be released next week, June 17th.
