Guerrilla Games has launched Burning Shores, a substantial expansion for Horizon Forbidden West that introduces underwater exploration. The DLC takes Aloy to the ruins of Los Angeles, now partially submerged and home to new machine types adapted for aquatic environments. New abilities allow Aloy to explore underwater ruins, discover ancient secrets, and battle machines in three-dimensional combat. The story introduces compelling new characters and expands the game's lore significantly. Graphics have been enhanced to showcase stunning underwater environments with realistic water physics and lighting. The expansion adds approximately 15 hours of content, including new weapons, outfits, and skill tree upgrades. Performance mode maintains smooth 60 FPS even in the most demanding underwater sequences.
