Valve has officially announced the Steam Deck 2, the successor to their popular handheld gaming PC. The new device features a stunning 8-inch 120Hz OLED display with HDR support, providing vibrant colors and deep blacks. Performance has been significantly enhanced with a custom AMD APU that delivers 50% more graphical power while maintaining excellent battery efficiency. Battery life has improved to 8-10 hours for most games, addressing one of the original model's main criticisms. The device maintains full compatibility with the existing Steam Deck library while offering enhanced performance modes for supported titles. New features include hall effect joysticks for improved durability, faster storage options, and improved cooling. Pre-orders open next month with shipping expected in Q3 2025.
