Invisible Inc and Do Not Starve Developers Klei Interactive have announced Away Team, a 2D based building game from the same universe that does not contain oxygen. I haven’t played oxygen yet, but Clay rarely misses – their ninja marks continue to be one of my favorite ninja shankfests – and the away team is very appealing with its already deep emphasis on highly inhumane physics. Here is the trailer.

In providing a world where “all tiles are simulated,” the away team lays a bold comparison with Noita and a volatile basis for uncontained oxygen.
On the away team, you are an isolated oxygen that is not included, a coloratist, aka Duplicant, and accidentally pressed the big red button to shake up a strange new world. You will need to equip a vacuum gun, explore the depths and create your own home from all the materials you find. You will need food and oxygen. Also a practical understanding of conductivity. And very careful purpose.
This is the area where all problems are subject to the laws of thermodynamics. The liquid flows and evaporates. Fires will spread, taking into account access to flammable materials. I don’t remember that things were… whimsical on Star Trek Away mission, but I was happy to watch a million episodes of the show where Captain Picard spends 29 minutes carving out a 29-minute acidic bat, and just before the credits I said “Ah shit.”
The away team has no release date yet, but they have a steam page.
