When is the Black Ops 7 release date? This June, Activision dropped a casual release trailer for the next game in the Call of Duty lineup as part of the jam-filled summer Game Fest weekend. The annual series tends to bounce off between Black Ops, Modern Warfare, and other Call of Duty subseries, giving each team time to make the game come true.
However, for the first time in Black Ops history, it will move directly from one BO game to another, following 2024’s Black Ops 6. Instead, Black Ops 7 will take us in the future 2035, forty years after the BO6’s 90s setting. However, while familiar faces come back in FPS games, the heart-bending chaos takes the series to places they have never seen before. This is everything we know BO7 Release Date so far.
Black Ops 7 release date estimated
The release date for Black Ops 7 could land between late October and mid-November, based on the traditional release schedule for Call of Duty Games. BO7 is available on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4 and PC via Xbox PC, Battle.net and Steam.
There is usually some overlap between the start of a new game’s campaign and the final season of the previous title. Similarly, the first season of a new game usually lands after the start of the campaign.
Currently, we don’t know when the final Black Ops 6 season will fall, but we can make educated speculations based on the previous season. Season 4 is scheduled to end on August 7, 2025, with the BO6 season continuing averaged between nine and ten weeks so far. Therefore, Season 5 will take us around October 9, 2025, so the short Season 6 will go smoothly until November. This fits the BO7 campaign that launched in early November, with season 1 kickoffs in December 2025.

Black Ops 7 trailer
The official Black Ops 7 teaser trailer already provides a lot of information on what to expect when the BO7 release date rolls in.
First, they are introduced to Guild, a futuristic high-tech company that appears to be saving lives, offering advanced robotics to save lives in war-hit regions. When one of these robots stepped David Mason into headquarters, it’s talking about their technology, software and systems. He then introduced Mason to the guild CEO Emma Kagan, who was voiced by Keenan Shipka.
However, in a scene where he bends his mind midway through the trailer, Mason suddenly turns face to face with his enemy, Raul Menendez. Their intentions don’t seem as innocent as they seem to be as the Red Butterflies accompanying Mason on this journey, certain Menedes from all over the area seemingly involved in the guild in some way.
Who is David Mason from Call of Duty BO7?
David Mason, along with his father, Alex Mason, was one of the two Black Ops 2 main characters. During the event of BO2, young David was lured outside of our BO7 villain Menendez. He was then raised by Frank Woods, one of the main characters of BO6.
As an adult, David, known as the “section,” joined the army following his father and adopted uncle, and joined the Navy seals. This is where you will find him in the second part of Black Ops 2, set in 2025. In fact, take a closer look at the BO7 trailer above. There are some similarities between the weapons shown and the weapons developed by Menendez in BO2. Perhaps the guild was his next step after being thwarted by Mason at the end of Black Ops 2.
That’s everything we know about the Black Ops 7 release date, but we’ll let you know when more is revealed this summer. In the meantime, you can play all BO6 campaigns and make sure you can get used to Black Ops 6 missions or unlock all BO6 CAMOs in multiplayer in time for the release of BO7. Before that, there are plenty of BO6 guides to help you get everything done.
