Civilization 7 It’s not off to a great start. The latest entry into the long-term strategy series is about to reinvigorate the design of past siving games by introducing a bold new system. The most controversial of these is age. This sets the Civ 7 apart from the past, while also providing a kind of shot of the arms needed to stay competitive with RTS games focused on recent history, such as ARA History-Of Empires 4, Total War: Pharaoh, and more. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out on a massive swath of the game’s audience, as the uniqueness of the age is welcome.
In short, age breaks the campaign of Civilization 7 into separate eras, and soft reset progress occurs as the strategy game moves from the first ancient stage to its exploration and modern stages. The player is not fully equipped with this system. This is mainly because playing throughout the game feels disjointed.

Update 1.2.2 is trying to address some of these issues. It offers changes such as adding large, huge map sizes, new options, including the ability to turn Steam Workshop support, toggle legacy paths on or off, and customize AI difficulty and independent hostility levels.
However, the biggest change that comes with new updates is the system that bypasses Civ Unlocks. This means that, according to the official explanation of the update, players will be given the option to “unlock gameplay decisions but still select CIV from the next age during age transition.”
The post acknowledges players are dissatisfied with the age aspect, including the fact that there is “room for improving the identity and continuity of players’ empires through multi-year campaigns.” To that end, Firaxis wants to fix this issue “in the course of several updates” “focused on improving the end-of-age countdown and age transition” and “in the course of several updates.”
Update 1.2.2 for Civilization 7 is currently scheduled to begin on Tuesday, June 17th.
