Without the deep, deep lore and secrets that send rabbit holes, it seems that it’s not a software game, but Eldenling Night League players have come across one of the first of the cooperative games.
It all came back to a very unusual item that players didn’t know first what to do, but after a bit of work they figured it out…just to realize that it’s just the first step that could become a major secret.

The Nightrign item in question is called a code end. This seems to be around 0.05% chance in one of the churches found in the entire world of Limveld in the game, by some estimates.
After some detectives, players found actual use for it. The item opens the door to the cave below the castle in the center of the map. The castle itself is a rather popular place, but the way the door itself is hidden can be invisible to most players.
If the inventory has a code end, the door will open. Inside there are three sacrificial twigs. Now, this is when things get interesting. Officially, it is very useful that the sacrificial twig items are clearly extremely useful, especially in the first two days of the run.
In other words, it is not enough to guarantee how unusual an item is, as it benefits from, and the process of using it to engage in opening a secret door. This is part of the reason players believe there is more to it, and the clue they are out of place is in the description of the item where all rabbit holes begin.
The code-end explanation refers to a “transmitted tribe” that “spoiled to sacrifice the body” in order to hide some kind of secret. The Crypt area of Roundtable Hold has two ffins that can be interacted with, and also mentions disconnection.
But what’s even more interesting is that both ask you to “give a branch.” Players think it is a reference to a twig that comes from a secret area. The text differs slightly between the two interaction possibilities, each referring to a different area.
Players think that one message is likely referring to a recluse, while the other could be about Wylder and the Duchess. Each refers to an area of the map that could be the home of their respective characters and could play a role in solving the puzzle.
Perhaps, in some theory, these specific classes are needed to carry the sacrificial twig to the end of the run. Maybe it will unlock the next step in the quest.
What makes this particular secret difficult to crack is how rare the item’s drop rate is. Without mods and data mining, you may never find what a deal with the code end is.
Of course, that could mean nothing. Not all words in the FromSoftware game are intended to be part of a larger image. Sometimes it’s just flavor text. However, we follow this as it could hide something cool.
