Euro Truck Simulator 2 dev confirms coaches as an entirely new way to play

Back in May, SCS Software shared a 22-second video where the coach pulled out from behind a big rig Euro Truck Simulator 2and it plunged the community into frenzy. That’s because players have been looking for coaches for ETS2 for many years, and even modify themselves instead of waiting. Now, SCS has finally confirmed that the coaches are in development, and they are definitely a game changer.

SCS calls it “project coach,” and that’s exactly what it is. Instead of carrying cargo across Euro Truck Simulator 2, you will become a coach driver who carries rough families and retired pensioners throughout the simulation game. “Even in the early stages of the development process, many elements are evolving behind the scenes,” writes SCS Software.

“From creating several coach models with distinctive handling to developing a network of bus terminals across the map, we’re already beginning to build a foundation (a lot of people have noticed for a long time).

The SCS also makes it clear that the project coach’s work will not hinder the rest of the planning. As a dedicated team is creating the new system, the rest of the studio’s ideas about tracks, map extensions and core ETS2 content are not on the sidelines. In fact, SCS just announced that Iceland is an upcoming expansion that the team is working on, so don’t worry if the coach isn’t for you.

All this work on ETS2 does not mean that SCS has forgotten American Truck Simulator. Earlier this year, the team announced a “Project Road Trip.” This will introduce many new vehicles besides the iconic 18 wheelers. You can control pickup trucks and sports cars and explore us simulated from a new perspective. SCS adds that it is potentially working on “fresh gameplay opportunities” for these cars, so it won’t drive aimlessly.
