If you have a tight budget, there was never a good time to upgrade to a new AMD gaming CPU AMD Ryzen 5 9600X The price fell to $179.99. This number is not only the lowest price on this CPU on Amazon, but it’s nearly $100 cheaper than the $279 launch price for this CPU just nine months ago.
In fact, at this price, the new AMD CPU is even cheaper than its predecessor, the Ryzen 5 7600X. Using six cores based on the Mighty Zen 5 architecture, this new chip is even faster than 7600 times faster, up to 5.4GHz, bringing the advantages of 100MHz over its predecessor.
Don’t even postpone the number of cores. In my experience, the six CPU cores are still sufficient for the game in the majority of cases, as long as they can afford to handle all the graphics work.
Importantly, all the cores on the 9600X are full-fat AMD Zen 5 cores, and the majority of Intel CPUs are unexplored in the game, with core numbers hitting e-cores. Unlike non-K Intel non-K CPUs such as the Core i5 13400F, the AMD Ryzen 5 9600X is also multiplier non-locked. This means that you can overclock if you have the best CPU cooler for your job.
If you want to get this new CPU upgrade for just $179.99, you will need to click on this link to join the deal. This is an AMD socket AM5 CPU so it cannot be put into an old socket AM4 motherboard, but please note that as long as you flash the BIOS first, you will be happy to slot into an existing final-generation AM5 motherboard.
If you don’t have an AM5 board, check out our guide to the best gaming motherboards to find the one that suits your needs. AMD’s socket AM5 platform also requires DDR5 memory instead of DDR4.
