Well, Helldivers 2’s Heart of Democracy Update was definitely a success in filling my pants with poop. The Galactic War, arriving on the streets of Super Earth, has driven the game to its highest number of steam players since April 2024.
All it took to drag a large number of divers in was to threaten their home planet. Here, even those illuminated to give the arrowheads an assist. Now, stop giving squid credits and go back to massacring them with the help of HD2’s beloved new sailor companions.

As Arrowhead’s Chief Creative Officer Johan Pilestedt has been paying attention to on Twitter, yesterday’s update rollout caused a pretty big player boost in the game.
Looking at SteamDB, the game hit a 24-hour peak with 163,581 players. In the context, more people jumped into the platform than ever before since April 2024, and the attention bump of the game’s first release, which saw the 400,000S figure, began to be kicked out a bit with the fashion expected in every game.
The fact that the infamous PSN account might combine ferocious kickoffs with sourness could also be a factor in the decline for many people in the game, but the numbers gradually began to settle, and HD2 was already moving around at that point.
As it stands, the heart of democracy is the biggest van for players that the game has gained from any of the major updates it has obtained from the aforementioned era in 2024. Also, the game’s vault has returned to the top 10 most played games rankings on SteamDB.
Considering the start of this month, people are clearly invested in the Super Earth struggle. The game posted steam player totals in the 30,000s.
Naturally, Arrowhead was troubled by this revival, with studio CEO Shams Jorjani taking the player bump to the game’s Discord server.
