For now, at least forget everything about the upcoming Silent Hill 2 remake. Hollow body When it was the latest survival horror game in the scene and VG247 previously described it as one of the most anticipated horror games, we had good reason to do so. Hollowbody is a special experience paying homage to many cult classics and forges a unique heritage of its own.
Play as Mica and you are an unlicensed black market shipper in a dystopian UK city. And while Mica’s house at Hollowdy’s World looks futuristic with flying cars and neon hues, it’s an exclusion zone where you spend most of your time trying to find her missing partner, Sasha. This exclusion zone was a disaster as newspaper clippings, posters and arrays of corpses slowly became clear. This disaster was a disaster that killed many civilians and stripped them of their homes, and this disaster was far from nature. In fact, it appears to be manufactured in the lab, so before you know it, Hollowbody already offers a harsh reminder of the biological horror of Resident Evil.

However, it’s not just in Hollowbody’s story. The complex and provocative worldbuilding available allows you to truly sink your teeth as Mica into these crumbling apartments, desolate streets and stories of people who once walked. It can be very moving not to make discoveries and radio signals you coordinate, not comparing these characters’ experiences to the very realistic experiences of real people in 2024. Hollowdybody may seem dystopian and futuristic, but ultimately tells an incredibly relevant story.
Hollowbody rewards the most attentive players, but ultimately it’s a solid starter dish for horror fans awaiting the upcoming Silent Hill 2 remake. From the environment to the enemies and music. Hollobody classfully nails the atmosphere and aesthetic of Silent Hill, providing players with a completely clear experience. There are enemies that resemble those lying, some of whom have tentacles sticking out of their heads, reminiscent of people infected with Resident Evil 4’s Las Pragas.
The soundtrack is redolent from Akira’s work on Yamaoka on Silent Hill. It’s creepy and industrial, and builds tensions like nothing else. Even the game’s UI reminds me of Signalis, an indie effort inspired by another quiet hill that I cannot fully recommend. Simply put, Hollowbody is an east feast of survival horror, returning to the old days of PSX-Horror and doing this with the utmost passion.

Like me, you’ll be happy to know that there are so many more in the game, both among other emotions and among others. Not only is it a short effort that lasted about 5-6 hours (but can finish much faster than I do), but there is also the secret ending and Easter eggs that you’ll find in additional playthroughs. In particular, the secret ending involving the developer’s dog… This sounds very quiet hill 2 when you ask me. There’s also the first person mode you can experience in later runs, and even ghosts in costumes inspired by the shell for those who finish the game.

As you walk down the streets of England that have been ruined by Hollowbody and piece together the stories of those who once lived there, you will see that there is more to Hollowbody than is eye-opening. No, I’m not talking about the end of the secret or the Easter eggs.
Think of the never-ending corridors and ecosystems that have returned to light corn and even borderlands (not a 2013 film from Elliot Goldner). that 1) or the moment “blink and you miss it” reminds me of Sam Barlow’s immortality. These may give you an idea of what I’m doing, but otherwise it’s best to experience that you, and your sanity is directly toying. Be very careful about your environment. That’s all I say.
Solo developer, headwear game Nathan Hamley, has funded Hollowbody via Kickstarter, with more goals. The next ultimate goal is an additional mall setting inspired by the Silent Hill 3.

Hollowbody is a testament to Hamley’s work and is incredible in itself, but his dedication to various cult classic horror and sci-fi games adds to how obsessed I am with the game. This is a way to fully realize an entirely new experience while strongly inspiring the game from other media. But don’t get me wrong, Hollowbody is more than its inspiration, and consists of multiple moving parts that provide fans of the survival horror genre something new and refreshing.
