The Nintendo Switch 2 will be released exactly a week away, but Nintendo is still drip feed news about new Switch 2 features that separate it from the original switch. Through the Nintendo Today app, Nintendo has shared that a new feature set on the Nintendo Switch Online platform will make N64 games more generous and nostalgic.
The first is the ability to rewind and start again through the gameplay. This is great for jumping to a platformer or accidentally jumping out of a track Mario Map 64 (My personal downfall in all Mario Kart games so far).
The Nintendo Today app revealed that CRT filters can add scanlines to N64 games. Perfect for those who want to crank up to 11 nostalgia and make it in 1998. The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time It looks silly.
These features are exclusive to the Switch 2, but both the OG Switch and its successors receive the ability to remap controls on the N64 game. The video shows that remapping is available on the Joy-Con and Nintendo 64 controller.
