I’m a little behind the Nvidia Geforce RTX 5070 Ti. So, this review is already a gloomy failure of the glowing robotic eyes of the Nowness machine on the Internet, but it can at least take into consideration the context of the GPU’s first few days of sale. Therefore, this context can be summarised as follows: Hmm. errrrrrrrr.
No, my early life wasn’t kind to the RTX 5070 Ti. Unlike the RTX 5090 and RTX 5080’s, the lack of insufficient stocks and Nvidia-Made Founders Edition reduced the chances of finding one at the intended £729/$749 RRP. Not to mention how some models are delivered, they can lose the rendering output unit and compromise performance. The fact that the RTX 5070 Ti is not a really bad graphics card made it a sad start and even more unhappy.

In addition to bolstering the RTX 4070 Ti with relatively fast games like Shadow of the Tomb Raider and Metro Exodus, the RTX 5070 TI is much better with tricky stuff like the Cyberpunk 2077 F1 24.
There was no handy RTX 4070 Ti Super to test on a new rig, but I’m assuming how I’ve compared and assumed in my previous tests to the RTX 4070 Ti, but I’d be surprised if I didn’t get a double digit frame rate upgrade from all of these games other than Horizon Forbidden West. The RTX 5070 TI is also sticking to the last-generation super version of VRAM upgrade, taking it a step further by switching 16GB of 256-bit memory to GDDR7. In other words, 4K is definitely enough.
The RTX 5070 Ti also has flexibility due to its frame generation. Normal disclaimer applies. NVIDIA’s AI-generated frames increase input delay rather than disconnecting it, so you should always check the stable base of traditional rendered frames before trying out Frame Gen. However, that is more achievable for newer models than the RTX 4070 Ti. With upscaling, the RTX 5070 Ti can manage playable frame rates with the most stringent settings of the Cyberpunk 2077 and Alan Wake 2.
Obviously, the 4x MFG places visual smoothness beyond what the RTX 4070 Ti could expect. But, more importantly, the older GPU is not reaching 30fps. This means it’s not suitable for performing this quality configuration without frame Gen. The RTX 5070 Ti is.

The RTX 5070 TI also makes sense as a luxurious 1440p driver. Neither of its predecessors were short here, but the new GPU still earns some substantial benefits, and Horizon has a complete war with the Forbidden West. It also appears to have a lot of headroom for ultra-high wave resolutions with more pixels, like 3440×1440.
With no additional 4K strain, the RTX 5070 Ti can actually be superior with these difficult path tracing and ray tracing effects. Take the Alan Wake 2: The RTX 4070 Ti is well played here, and averages 45FPS using DLSS upscaling of quality levels, while the RTX 5070 TI’s 55FPS is visibly smooth and a little sensitive to the hand. Then once more, MFG intervene to decisively win the numbers game.
The only real cause to pause here – you are not can Hop on the ebuyer now and hurry on the path to buying your RTX 5070 Ti. It’s worth seeing how the next RTX 5070 will probably compare to the AMD Radeon 9070 XT. The RTX 5070 Ti obviously can coast-run a way to smooth out the 1440p, but with its proximity to the RTX 5080, I wonder if it’s like a “budget” (relatively speaking) 4K competitor. I understand.

Unlike the RTX 5080, I think there is at least a crazy soul considering the humble 1080p RTX 5070 Ti. So here is a graph showing how stupid it is:
Rather than stopping faster than what came before, the RTX 5070 TI is probably allowed using the most bottleneck avoidant CPU on the planet, but when you reach three digits it stops the numerical advantage from affecting below 120FP or SO. Especially if there’s no such thing as a high-end monitor that has a sufficient refresh rate to accommodate the output of the frame.
Certainly the 1080p has a much more efficient graphics card, with the RTX 5070 TI being rated for a maximum beverage of 300W and requires at least 700W PSU. 750W, for this ZOTAC model, at least it’s not of course an energy pig. Of course I peaked it at 253W and ran a very intensive Cyberpunk 2077 session, often shy of the official maximum. It also recognizes that one of the Goliath dimensions is cooling performance, with GPU temperatures only reaching 54°C under load. It is actively ice by standard on the latest graphics cards. The RTX 5080 Founders Edition Cooler’s high-tech, dual-axis fan design allowed the lid to be kept at 65°C.
At £729, the rarely exciting Nvidia GPU can choke up the RTX 5070 TI as another serviceable. But as we’ve seen, the problem is that you could get this card for just as much as £729 to buy Alexandra Palace for the tenor. And if the actual price is very close to the entry level of the RTX 5080 – it has at least the founder’s version that is on sale due to its own stock shortage In theory Under the ground – it’s fair to start asking questions. Questions such as “Why shouldn’t you get a 5080?” and “How did you forget what happened in 2020?”
The RTX 5080 is more intense on the PSU and doesn’t offer much of a meaningful extra vitality at 1440p, but it is more generally proofed in the future, and has a 4K advantage that you can enjoy today. At Saner’s prices, the RTX 5070 Ti will still entertain the crowd, but it’s clear that there are screws that you need to exercise before it’s worth your cash.
