If you’ve ever thought Oblivion’s Mages Guild Questline didn’t do enough to help your roleplay as a proper magic scholar, then it looks like you’re covered by a new Oblivion remastered mod that casts a change spell to a fact. We’ll add a number of new systems, including Infinite Elixir and staff crafting.
This is the latest entry in Modder Coldtyrant’s Infinitum series. This overhauls all of Cyrodiil’s major factions, for example, by introducing Radiant Quest Systems, which can take on many dark Brotherhood contracts and fighter guild monster hunts. They have already taken on these two factions. Plus, the Thief Guild and Arena.

That said, their Mages Guild overhaul “Mags Guild – Infinitum” seems to be the most ambitious of many, adding six new systems to provide endlessly reproducible activities designed to make the ances actually feel like they are about “solving the magical mystery.”
There is an Elixir craft that sounds like steroid alchemy. Staff are able to “create different staff of different skill levels across all six different magical schools.” This is much more detailed than one quest in the base game.
The mod also has several activities aimed at more outdoor magical users. There is a “Beast Research System” that harvests “must-relent essence” from creatures you encounter, which can be recorded in special books and rewarded you with the boost of key attributes.
If you’re feeling like the magic admin that the base game has in spades, you can take on the delivery of Elixir and recycle the robes of the Necromancer you defeat. Both are ways to earn extra money, and in the latter case it is a soul gem. I’m now wondering which poor Majes Guild members have to put out the bottle.
“Mages Guild has always been a strange sect,” writes Coldtyrant.
“It was difficult to decide which direction I wanted to take along with Mages Guild – Infinitum. Being a magician has always been my favorite in particular. I decided to add as many endless or needable endless and attractive systems as possible.
