Oblivion is an infamous buggy game, so it probably wasn’t too surprising that Oblivion was also quite a buggy remastered. Many of these bugs are a kind of beloved TES 4, which is fascinating and nonsense, but Bethesda and the Masters have confirmed that the remaster has received two updates to fix more serious issues.
After scrolling through the first patch notes for these updates that will be released in today’s Steam beta, there’s one fix that stands out as it plagues my dreams.

Updating these first 1.1 will be released via Steam beta on June 5th, with a focus on “quests, major bugs, blockers, and quality of life fixes.” As of June 11th, it will be available on all platforms.
Meanwhile, the second update is intended to improve the performance of the game. There is no date yet. Just “share details whenever possible.”
One of the quest fixes for Update 1.1 is designed to stop “Vicente Valtieri Lose Hair” during Dark Brotherhood missions with the Dark Brother Love Knife. I came across this glitch while reviewing the game, and while it wasn’t too inconvenient, it was definitely an experience to have returned from mission to find out that the regular Dapper vampire assassin had become a complete Ross Kemp. Especially when his hair miraculously returned the next time he visited for chat.
Among the other interesting fixes to the patch are the “unanimated” high-level ones of Osato’s High Prime Minister, the Thief Guild NPCs, which do not appear at all. And Savrian Mattius is stuck after the battle in the castle courtyard when he again acquires Kvatch. I think I narrowly shunned that last thing, as I remember that despite all his chatter about the age of essence to save the count, I seem to be very silent about chasing my hero into the castle.
