Stalker 2 review: an excellent work of struggle and loneliness, even if it is plagued by bugs

There are no games like Stalker 2 that nail loneliness. A vast and challenging open world sci-fi RPG from the world of GSC games stands alone in an ambitious exploration of a dangerously ruined landscape that is greedy, greedy and unlinear. Stalker 2 is a theme park to fresh hell for others, depicting the harsh reality of carving out of struggle and wrestling with strange things.

It’s a shame the game was ruined by a bug during my playthrough, but perhaps there’s no better indicator of Stalker Mantle’s status as a legitimate successor than leaving crashes, busted side quests and broken notes unreadable due to technical spaghettiization.

This game places you in Skief’s shoes whose homes have been destroyed due to the sudden appearance of an unusual shenanigan outside the boundaries of the zone. This spurs him to enter the zone alone and try to regain his future like many stalkers before him, discovering why this tragic accident happened in the first place.

Over the next 40 hours (at least), he finds himself at the heart of a potentially world-changing event, and is the first to dig into the mystery of the zone, drinking energy drinks about 25 hours without showing any health issues at all. Maybe they’re close to the zone, but we’re all a bit out of place, right?

The Stalker series has gained a reputation for its difficulties, and in Stalker 2 this appears in two forms. I don’t like one. The first is resource management and risk-taking practices. The zone is littered with ammo, bread, hand rena bullets, more bread, delicious energy drinks, valuable soothing items, and other breads. If you’re like me, you start the game to grab everything, practice Stalker 2 will be beaten from you.

It’s surprisingly easy to know yourself. What does it mean to have 6kg of sausage? Why am I not making it this heavy and why is this ammunition? What does that mean that it’s my fault? Do I have 50 bandages in my bag?

So, of course, you kill your inner booty goblins, grab only what you need, and cut down on bread in the hopes of a low carb life with a fast moving speed and a tidy backpack. But then you bump into the area and face a chimera, a PSI dog, or three vampires. Suddenly, you are burning ammunition, you are out of a good healing item, and the taste of bread is pointless, but sweet memory. If I plundered more bread!

What this is doing is to prepare things to take them slowly. Certainly, you run the zone and run your guns and are extraordinarily dashing while your podcast is furiously throwing away healing items, but you’ll be punished for it. Stalker 2 is a slow, gentle, victory game. Clean up the map, build a wealth of spare merchandise in stashes, build a lovely nest egg with coupons for rainy days, and prepare. Once I realized I was out of stock, I returned to town for 5 minutes. myself? Would you like to retreat from the challenge? Clearly, this is proof of the difficulties created by the craftsmanship of the game.

However, there are spikes. It’s very naughty. You may know what Psudogiant is, but what you don’t know very well is chimera. These bullet sponges tend to pop up when double-headed jumping monsters at their worst, and are faster than you, and have a seemingly endless range of aggroes.

If you see them you have to fight them, and while there’s no shame in jumping over your box and blowing all your ammunition off, they can (and will) combo you from 100% health to zero. I won’t ruin the events leading up to the worst, but if you see the train tunnel after the main mission, decorate yourself. There’s one particularly tricky fight that I think is leaning towards the frustrating aspect of things, but it’s related to the story, so I’ll die rather than ruin it for you.

What a great segue… The main story of Stalker 2 is amazing. It’s full of intriguing twists, revelation, thrilling action, and lack of faith in the performances of some great characters. According to the iron-covered conditions of this review set by the publisher, I can’t point out the story moments that stole the show, but I was surprised anyway so I didn’t do that anyway Various A moment in the story.

The character I had envisioned was one-dimensional and turned my expectations into my mind. Every time gameplay moves into an in-game movie, you’ll sit down and prepare for the show.

The story is also quite long. The reviewer was told by the developer when he received the code that it would take 30-40 hours for the main story alone. I believed that this number certainly considered a healthy serving exploration. I was totally wrong. With the mark of about 15 hours, I only explored three regions. The next 15 hours were spent completely focusing on the main story, which explored little or none. This is a game you can gorge.

I definitely recommend this memo do not have It focuses solely on the story. You’ll miss the cool side quests, cool gear and lots of artifacts scattered around the map. Needless to say, certain side quests become impossible at certain points in the story. So once you enter the area, you’ll complete the perfect finish and quest there before you seek the best experience. I have a locked RPG behind the door and I don’t know how to open it. Devastating.

The last note about the story. I was on a whim when the decisions I had made were revealed to me It was actually important. I’m not talking about some final film changes as the only indication of your actions, but about the forks in the story. Quest items that can only be held in Facts make certain things easier. The main character is paying attention to your loyalty.

I sided with the ward – the military police of the game, philosophically and sometimes literally opposed to the natives in the zone – and that police train ripened with merit and interesting moments. The Stalker series teaches people that things aren’t always black and white, and Stalker 2 elegantly asserts its legacy.

Another reason to explore is the world of Stalker 2 itself. This is gorgeous in both looks and vibes. Some people may disagree with me here: they may find themselves bored of trees and green hills. But looking beyond the general landscape of the zone, one finds an unforgettable ruin, a rich landscape dotted with the heritage of civilizations overcome by both metaphysical invasion and the conquest of time.

Even in the first regions, places like lower zones, poppy fields, ribs, and bulba are in contrast to normal. Places like swamps and red forests then show how much the zone can transform and transform the world.

I’m in love with the village too. These not only have towns, but also have their homes expanded for the population of the zone, each with their own style and character. People live in old factories, ruined ships and tunnels. Some live in squatters, while others live in clean structures with sick bars and elevators to work (with breathtaking); I personally am a boogie boy who loves fictional cops so I built a nest in a chemical factory settlement, but I can’t deny my heart for long to the best bars in the game.

What I’m saying is that the world’s buildings are powerful whether it’s environmental storytelling across various landmarks, the music of Lad Ukrainians being played on the radio, or the small moments of rest you find along the way. I sat by the fire with a random stalker in fewer zones. He wasn’t an important NPC or anything like that, he was just a guy, and we became close friends in a matter of seconds. A pack of dogs then was born, and at the moment he was killed. I plundered some sausages from his body, moved ahead and sold the entire tone from there perfectly.

All of this may sound like a background radiation addiction, but the game isn’t without its problems. I opened the article with reference to bugs in the game, but I’ve come across quite a few, ranging from funny distractions to crashes to divisive quests.

Many of the small bugs are locked up in the days leading up to firing. The weapon’s gunfire sounds will disappear completely when you stop using your personal PDA before the corpse flies towards the sky and pulls the cart wheel and disappears on the horizon. However, some remain as rooted as an orc tree, like the NPCs of the Alliance standing at the doorway during the battle, whether you’re not being forced onto them. And killing quests that failed them forever. you know.

I didn’t encounter any serious crashes until 25 hours, but the lower zone had a place that is currently fixed (from what I’ll tell you) that is heavily delayed. This crash occurred when I opened the map while “ejecting”. This is a map-wide event that forces you or faces a particular death. Not only did I have to close the game via Task Manager, I also had to completely restart my PC. The AutoSave file in that location could not be loaded without instant crash.

These small bugs only required the grating to be loaded saves to avoid, not the biggest deal in the world. However, later in the game I came across some Really Something bad. There are side quests that I don’t ruin, but it involves defending the reconciliation. One NPC asks to take out nearby enemies. This guy is essentially AOE soft rock. It doesn’t matter if you help him, ignore him, or let him die! Whatever happens, the game locks you into dialogue.

This meant I had to ignore the side quests completely. This bug has been reported, so I hope it’s fixed. If not, it’s the real painful place in the game.

Now the stalker is not a stranger to bugs, I can A wave of bug fixes during the review period means that many small issues have been removed. In addition, a day of zero patches were implemented one day before the publication of this review. I jumped in and certainly noticed the influence, but at the same time I can’t review versions of games that I’ve never seen before.

There is a certain appeal to floating young people and flying bodies. |

What I recommend to players is to spend time on the game as these Quickfire fixes point to collective efforts to patch things up.

Otherwise, the Stalker series has a rich history of community-driven mods that fix a number of issues. If the bug is truly a banned factor for you, we may monitor the community experience over the next few days and come back a week or two behind.

Despite these issues, I loved my time with Stalker 2. I continued playing even with bugs that otherwise drove me out of games like this – perhaps hanging out a bit, but I still want to see more.

It was a game created under very silly circumstances, with Russia’s invasion of Ukraine forced many staff to leave the country, with fellow members sticking it out among their families and registering in war efforts.

Regardless, it’s difficult to make a game. The fact that the team put together such a package allowed us to put together a package that was extremely enthusiastic about revisiting the world given to the history of PC gaming. I hope it won’t be lost to a crowd of general games that don’t know much about games other than their time.

Stalker 2 is clearly recommended to fans of the Stalker series and as someone who loves open world FPS games and unique sci-fi. The good thing is that it is available on the Game Pass, so you can try it by paying less than the full price.

Well, if you don’t mind, I have 3 breads to eat and about 12 energy drinks waiting for me.
