Star Wars Battlefront 2 lives, as a massive community return campaign results in a new Steam player record

Star Wars Battlefront II was given a new lifespan. A community-driven effort that would return to a war-torn galaxy has led players to assemble in large numbers in EA’s sci-fi shooter, breaking the records of concurrent players on Steam.

Before this event, the game saw an average peak player count of around 1,000 users each today, according to SteamDB. However, starting on May 4th (Star Wars Day), this number has started to climb dramatically. It first reached a peak of 5,583 players, then continued to climb throughout the month, eventually peaking yesterday with 18,635 Star Wars fans.

Battlefront II was launched in 2017 for mixed reception thanks to a scary microtransaction model. But since then, the game has been shaped very well! Introducing the aspects that many initially had disgusting, it proved to be ripe for a tough return to a group of gamers hungry for some wide-scale PVP action.

Overall, it’s a pretty lovely moment in the series’ history. People gather on social media to show off the game with their ability to create all the eccentricities and cinema moments. I’ll receive this post from Twitter user Alej. This shows a small snippet of the game in action. Fast-paced gameplay with ships flying throughout the gaff, kicking dust and laying air barrages. It’s still a great game and I dare say, providing ointments to other games without years of content and solid backbone.
