The FTC officially dropped its legal case against Microsoft following the Aquisition of American Tech Giant’s Activision Blizzard in 2023. Microsoft can now use Activision Blizzard to advance any business shenanigan without worrying about the court.
The legal battle, which has been raging for almost two years, concluded as the FTC filed an order dismissing the case. This means that, in a simple way, FTC had recently sued for a restriction order for AQUISITION, and the FTC had simply not had more cards left.

Microsoft vice-chairman Brad Smith delightedly announced on social media, saying, “Today’s decision is a victory for players across the nation, a victory for Washington, DC’s common sense, and we thank the FTC for today’s announcement.”
The FTC successfully clashed with the following statement in submission to withdraw from this legal battle: “The Commission has determined that public interest is most useful by dismissing administrative litigation in this case. Therefore, any complaints on this matter will be dismissed here.”
That’s all. The end of the saga of major legal consequences for the video game industry. Now, Microsoft is free to spread its recently purchased and tied wings, jumping out in pursuit of a large amount of money that is unhindered. It is something video game fans must look to see whether the FTC fears are well placed and leaning against the massive market share that Microsoft currently has.
