Julius Girbig’s senior technical animator at CD Projekt Red also spoke about how the new features have become available to the studio to help his work as an artist, despite the release of Unreal Engine 5.6 “not really digging into the code.” He said tools like the latest version of Metahuman Creator allowed him to create and refine “hundreds of characters.”
“It just unleashes me as an artist,” Girbirg said. “Now, when you use this engine, you suddenly start to create something much bigger and think bigger. It’s really great to be able to use something like nanite leaves to create these vast forests and things that pop up in your head.
CD Projekt Red mentions its ambitions The Witcher 4which the franchise calls the “most immersive and ambitious” game. In a press release announcing the technology demo, the company said that despite enabling ray tracing, it can still maintain 60 frames per second what it saw in the base PS5 trailer.
The Witcher 4 It was announced throughout December 2024 during the Game Awards. This announcement was made through a trailer introducing CIRI as the main protagonist of the future. The move is considered controversial, but the voice actor for the former protagonist, Geralt, tells these people to “read damn books.”
The game currently has no release date yet, but CD Projekt has previously said it will not be released early before 2027.
