Certainly, Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered and Skyblivion are already removed this year or are expected to arrive before 2025 is complete. But people are eager to see more updates in the classic TES game, and the Modders behind Skywind, a remake of Skyrim’s engine, dropped a fresh gameplay showcase.
Yes, if you forget, a group of people have been determined to work hard on their modernized interpretations of the game about taking long walks to the mountains.

This latest look from SkyWind is a 20-minute long run of the Imperial Legion’s quest to rescue the false Joncis Dalomax of knights stuck in the Daedric shrine in Ashurnibibi.
At the Buckmoth Legion Fort south of Ald’ruhn, after picking up a mission from Imshin, who has revamped the armor of the Knights of the Templar, the Dunmer adventurer of Devs heads to the shrine and stumbles across Bandit Shakdown along the way. They generate an old-fashioned tactic of giving up cash and quickly earn bonus TES points to kill the robber and get it back.

There are plenty of cool details, but I like the slightly Morrowindy visual talent added to the Ver Skyi-Ish interface that these Skyrim engine conversions all have to use – the aspect of this gameplay showcase is the architecture of Ashurnibibi. Certainly, the doomed look looks very Skilim Fort, but with players inside you can see how much work it took to recreate Morrowind’s otherworld and the jagged Daedric Architecture. The walls are funky patterns, strange doors, and murals of death provide backgrounds for skirmishes such as Daedroth and Dremora.
Naturally, this latest gameplay ends with an update on the SkyWind team’s progress. The mod doesn’t have a specific release date yet, but it rings like things are coming in well.
“This team has been working for the past year and we look forward to sharing that all the 2D art and writing for the base game is complete,” the VID narrator said.
Next, I went exactly how each aspect of the mod goes, and the bit that caught my attention is that someone still needs to play the most important voice acting role – Dagoth Ur. Vivec and Yagram Bagarn also need a VoiceBox provider.
Apart from that, the mod team is looking for volunteers to help develop SkyWind along with those who have experienced “creating 3D clothing models, mixing and mastering voice acting, and implementing assets via creation kits.” Audio file editors, Navmeshers, and Localisers are also in demand. If any of them are right for you, head to the mod site and apply.
